Giveaway at Gift of Curiosity!

Have you heard the news?  Katie over at Gift of Curiosity did a FABULOUS review on my Number Neighborhood Activity Book.  Today she has a free book to giveaway...

Check it out HERE!

I have been personally following Katie and I find her teaching style very similar to my own.  In fact she says this about my Amazing Action Alphabet books & my Number Neighborhood books...

"They truly are the backbone of my letter learning and number learning curriculums, and have been extremely effective in helping my daughter learn her letters and numbers."

I LOVE when people use my teaching tools and find SUCCESS in teaching their little ones!

Katie says on her blog...

"What I enjoyed about the Number Neighborhood Activities book is that all of the activities are quite different, so kids don’t get bored by them. All of the activities focus on different math skills such as comparing sizes, graphing, measuring, counting, adding, and more. Plus, each activity is related to the fun and simple story for that number in the Number Neighborhood flip book."

I'm thinking Katie knows what she is talking about when it comes to teaching.  She has a Ph.D in child development, her masters degree in education, and most importantly a mother and teacher of her two little ones .  I love how she is sharing her wealth of knowledge with all of us through her great blog!

I'd encourage you to follow her like I have and see what you think.  With all her free printables and great teaching ideas... she will NOT disappoint you!

Thanks Katie at Gift of Curiosity.  Keep on sharing!

Positive Reinforcement...Word of the Day

Children need learning environments that are safe, positive, nurturing, and stimulating!  Earlier this week I found this environment  when I visited Whisper Creek Preschool  located in Draper, Utah.

Terri Michaels shared with me a simple positive reinforcement idea that she uses with The Amazing Action Alphabet. She uses an encouraging “word of the day” that starts with the letter of the week.

These words are located at the end of each Amazing Action Alphabet CD song.  Here is a written list of the words she uses...

A - Amazing!
B - Brilliant!
C- Cool!
D - Dynamite!
E - Excellent!
F - Fantastic!
G - Great Job!
H - Hurrah!
I Incredible!
J - Good Job!
K - Great Kicking!
L - Lovely!
M - Magnificent!
N - Nice Work!
O - Outstanding!
P - Perfect!
Q - Terrific Quality!
R - Remarkable!
S - Splendid!
T - Terrific!
U - Unbelievable!
V - Very Nice!
W - Wonderful!
X - X-Exactly!
Y - You Yelled (yodeled) Perfectly!
Z - Zoopendous!

They consist of “zoopendous” for Z-Day day, “brilliant” for B-Day, “incredible” for I-Day and “magnificent” for M-Day.

For a quick reference she wrote these words under each letter on the Amazing Action Alphabet Placemat. Thanks Terri for sharing this clever idea!  What ideas do you want to share?

How are you going to teach AND have fun this summer???!!

I love success stories, and I see and hear these stories ALL THE TIME!  That is what brings a smile to my face.  I love when kids have fun AND learn!

Summer is upon us and most of us just want to hang up the backpacks and kick up our heels.  Enjoy the down time with yours kids!  Here are some fun ways to teach AND have fun this summer from some of my new blogging friends.

Annie over at Annies Place To Learn shares ideas about teaching preschoolers and I love her Preschool Bin ideas.  Check out what she has in that bin!  That would keep my kids busy ALL SUMMER LONG!

Camille at Sunny Time Preschool messaged me saying she loves using Amazing Action Alphabet Products too!

"We use the Amazing Action Alphabet at my preschool
and all the kids LOVE it!   It really helps them retain the letter names and
sounds! We love the songs too! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!"

Sunny Times has fantastic ideas on how to teach preschoolers!  I loved her Bubble Art that goes right along with our Amazing Action Alphabet Activity Book B day activity.  Grab this book and do these activities at home.  Your kids barely realize their learning!

Also, Camille had some GREAT ideas for Y day that enhance our Y the Yack and his YoYo.  She strings YARN all over the room and makes a fun obstacle course.  She also writes about Yummy and Yucky tastes!    They tried Yellow Yogurt and Yams!  Yell yes for our senses!

I hope you're thinking about fun in the sun this summer!  If you want to SHARE your unique ideas, and tell us how you find success in teaching in these summer months, message me!  We all want to hear from YOU!

My new friends at Gift of Curiosity blogged about reviewing letters and sounds with the  Amazing Action Alphabet Books AND then...about glow in the dark letter matching!

Another friend at Sippy Cup Mom blogged about the Amazing Action Alphabet Books too!  She shared Coffee Cups And Crayons idea about reviewing sight words with the Lightsaber!

Thanks friends!  I think as a teacher we innately want to share our ideas and help others!!

Share How YOU Use The Amazing Action Alphabet!

I am amazed at how creative you all are!!!  I have people tell me all the time how they've tweaked this or used some of that as they have taught using the Amazing Action Alphabet books.

At Teach Preschool they practice reviewing their letters and sounds with the alphabet cards.  They write their names on boards and practice tracing their names with their finger.  Each student holds their name board and while the teacher says things like "If your name has an S in it slither like S The Snake!"

How cute is that!?!  Thanks Deborah at Teach Preschool for sharing with us today!

I am a teacher for over 20 years and I love to share!  Please share how YOU use these books and share a picture and details below.  I would love to highlight and blog about you and YOUR PRESCHOOL too!

Let the sharing begin!
