Finger Play For #5

When I teach number 5 I begin with 5's story in the Number Neighborhood Flip Chart.  Here 5 has a hive of honey bees and his Grandpa helps him remove the honey for his Grandma's homemade bread.

There are such fun poems and finger pays when talking about the Number 5.  Try this one on for size...

One Little Bee

One little bee, blew and flew.
He met a friend, and that made two.
Two little bees, busy as could be--
Along came another and that made three.
Three little bees, wanted one more,
Found one soon and that made four.
Four little bees, going to the hive.
Spied their little brother, and that made five.
Five little bees working every hour--
Buzz away, bees, and find another flower.

{Thanks for the pic}

I have this book as one of my "go to" books for talking about bees.  Buzz on over to your local library and check out The Beautiful Bee Book by Sue Unstead.  It's a wonderful book about the real world of a bee.
